Job summary

GAP Solutions Inc. is seeking a Junior Human Resource Specialist to support managers, program staff and customers on a full range of HR topics, including staffing, classification, benefits, recruitment and labor relations.

The role involves processing payroll actions, maintaining personnel records, drafting SOPs and providing HR guidance to applicants and staff. Strong Microsoft Office and SharePoint skills are required, with travel possible for certain tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required or 3 years federal HR experience as equivalent.
• U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident and must reside in the United States or territories.
• When a Task Order includes tasks related to drug testing, knowledge of Health and Human Services Guidelines and a valid driver’s license required; air travel possible.
• Will reside in the United States for three or more years out of the last five.

Responsibilities

• Process personnel and payroll actions, keying payroll documents, processing leave audits.
• Create vacancy, retirement and payroll folders.
• Research waiver and hearing requests.
• Scan documents into personnel record systems.
• Assist with drafting SOPs.
• Process personal liability insurance reimbursement claims.
• Initiate selection notifications and disposition letters.
• Research and compile information on federal HR topics for guidance.
• Provide HR guidance to applicants and staff and maintain employee files.
• Provide administrative support: manage calendars, screen calls, arrange travel, coordinate meetings, draft agendas and spreadsheets, open mail, file and monitor supplies.
• Process complex pay, leave, time and attendance, waivers, FERCCA cases, and provide guidance on pay-setting.
• Assist in developing guidance and training materials for managers and employees.
• Resolve pay-setting errors and discrepancies.
• Provide advice on base pay, overtime, or leave entitlements.
