Job summary

GAP Solutions, Inc. seeks a Junior Human Resource Specialist to support managers, program staff and customers on the full range of HR topics, including staffing, classification, benefits, recruitment, compensation, SES programs, and labor relations.

You will assist with payroll processing, document filing, policy development, and providing HR guidance while coordinating administrative support across calendars, travel, and meetings. This position supports DHS ICE and OHC with HROC.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting with staffing, payroll processing, and HR tasks on a full range of HR topics.

Responsibilities

• Process personnel and payroll actions, keying payroll documents and leave audits.
• Create vacancy, retirement and payroll folders.
• Research waiver and hearing requests.
• Scan documents into HR record systems.
• Draft SOPs and assist with policies.
• Process personal liability insurance reimbursement claims.
• Issue tentative selection notifications and results letters.
• Provide general HR guidance to applicants and staff; maintain employee files.
• Provide wide-ranging administrative support: calendar management, phone screening, travel arrangements, meeting logistics, correspondence, and filing.
• Process complex pay, leave, time, and FERCCA cases; research waivers and hearings.
• Conduct desk audits and prepare evaluation reports for position management actions.
• Assist in developing training materials for managers and employees.
• Resolve pay-setting errors and entitlements.
