Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join the Federal Programs Team. The role offers design responsibility from project inception through construction across multiple offices in Boise, Overland Park, Madison, and Virginia Beach.

Expect collaboration with engineers, planners, and construction professionals to deliver safe, compliant electrical systems. Requires ABET-accredited degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience, plus NEC/IEEE knowledge and CAD/BIM proficiency.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years post-education experience delivering design for capital projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, ANSI/IEEE, NFPA, ICC codes.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Professional Engineering license.
• DBIA Certification.
• Experience with SKM/PTW or ETAP and AGI32 lighting tools.
• CAD/BIM experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience in alternative delivery projects.

Responsibilities

• Design within an electrical discipline team on diverse projects.
• Involved from inception to completion of facility and infrastructure design.
• Deliver designs in design-bid-build, Design-Build, or Alternative Delivery.
• Develop electrical plans, diagrams, and specifications.
• Perform field observations and site investigations.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineers, planners and construction pros.
• Adhere to safety policies and code of conduct.
