Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Programs Team. The role offers opportunities to work from Boise, ID; Overland Park, KS; Madison, WI or Virginia Beach, VA offices on complex facility and infrastructure projects.

You will contribute to electrical design, calculations, and documentation across various delivery methods while collaborating with engineers, planners, and construction professionals to meet client objectives.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–7 years of post-education electrical design experience for varied capital projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, ANSI/IEEE, NFPA, and ICC codes.
• Must be able to obtain US security clearance (US citizenship).
• Ability to perform electrical calculations and develop design deliverables.
• Experience in an engineering consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Design within an electrical discipline team for a wide range of projects.
• Involved from inception to completion in design and construction of facilities and infrastructure.
• Deliver designs in design-bid-build, Design-Build, or Alternative Delivery.
• Develop single-line, three-line, and wiring diagrams; equipment layouts; grounding and lightning protection.
• Perform load analysis, short-circuit analysis, arc flash, voltage drop, and other calculations.
• Prepare electrical plans and specifications; support contract documents.
