Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to contribute to the Federal Power and Energy Team across Boise, ID; Overland Park, KS; Madison, WI; or Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves design leadership from inception through construction for facility and infrastructure projects, with emphasis on power systems, lighting, and protective-relaying design.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering for large capital projects, and the ability to meet

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university, or equivalent.
7+ years of relevant post-education experience delivering design for capital projects.
Professional Engineering license.
US citizenship and ability to pass a security background check.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical engineering design including single and three-line diagrams, equipment layouts, grounding and protective-relaying settings.
Develop electrical calculations: load, short-circuit, voltage drop, arc flash, motor starting, and lighting calculations.
Prepare contract documents: electrical plans and specifications.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and provide guidance to junior engineers.
Review vendor documents and ensure conformance with codes and standards.
Assist in field investigations, observations, and site construction support.
