Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Power and Energy Team, with the option to work from Boise, ID; Overland Park, KS; Madison, WI or Virginia Beach, VA. You will lead design from project inception to construction, develop single-line and three-line diagrams, perform load and short‑circuit studies, and prepare contract documents.

Requirements: ABET‑accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years of experience, PE license, ability to travel, and familiarity with

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design for capital projects.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Ability to pass US citizenship security background checks.
  • Familiarity with UFC/UFGS/FC/ NEC/IEEE/NFPA/ICC standards.
  • Experience NAVFAC/USACE design standards.
  • Experience in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Ability to perform complex electrical calculations and interpret plans.

Responsibilities

  • Designs electrical systems and prepares single-line, three-line diagrams and wiring diagrams.
  • Develops electrical calculations (load, short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, voltage drop).
  • Prepares contract documents including plans and specifications.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams and mentors junior engineers.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, codes, and client requirements.
