Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Power and Energy Team with the opportunity to operate from the Overland Park, KS office, among other U.S. locations.

You will lead electrical design on facility and infrastructure projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, safe, and cost-effective solutions. The role requires 7+ years of post-education experience, a PE license, ABET-accredited degree, and the ability to pass a US security

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 7+ years of post-education electrical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• US citizenship and ability to pass security background check.

Responsibilities

• Design on a wide range of projects within an electrical discipline team.
• Involved from project inception to completion in the design and construction of facility and infrastructure projects.
• Develop electrical calculations including load analysis, short circuit, protective device coordination and arc flash analyses; lighting design and standards conformance.
• Develop contract documents including electrical plans and specifications.
• Work individually or as part of cross-functional teams to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects.
• Assist with installation layouts, calculating costs and quantities of material/equipment/labor, ensuring compliance with owner requirements and regulatory memos.
• Provide guidance and training to entry- and mid-level engineers.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations explaining findings and recommendations.
