Job summary

SiFive, the world leader in RISC-V, is seeking an experienced Linux kernel software architect to advance the RISC-V Linux kernel on high core count server systems. In this role you’ll patch, debug, and improve upstream contributions, collaborating with OpenSBI and Linux communities.

You’ll work with system software, validation teams, and hardware engineers to optimize core and platform designs, with opportunities to influence silicon and software integration.

Qualifications

• Experience writing and reviewing patches on upstream Linux kernel mailing lists (public lists).
• Experience debugging software and hardware bugs in CPUs and SoCs.
• Experience collaborating with CPU architects and RTL engineers.
• Experience developing and debugging Linux on FPGA and emulation platforms.
• Experience with hypervisors and virtualization.
• Familiarity with the RISC-V architecture.

Responsibilities

• Improve and debug the RISC-V Linux kernel for high core count server systems.
• Interact with upstream Linux and OpenSBI communities, posting and reviewing patches.
• Debug challenging problems with system software and validation teams on SiFive designs.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to improve core and system designs.
