Job summary

Joseph Michaels International seeks a board-certified Rheumatologist for a full-time, on-site role in Rutland, Vermont. The position emphasizes patient-centered care, comprehensive administrative backing, and strong multidisciplinary collaboration within an outpatient clinic setting with inpatient consultation support.

The ideal candidate will manage complex rheumatic conditions, perform routine procedures, and collaborate with primary care and specialty teams while maintaining rigorous EMR

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school and board-certified/board-eligible in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship.
• Unrestricted Vermont license or eligibility before start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with rheumatic, autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders.
• Obtain comprehensive histories and perform thorough physical exams.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, bone health tests to guide therapy.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with DMARDs, biologics, steroids, and non-pharmacologic approaches.
• Perform office-based procedures such as joint injections and aspirations.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and coordinate with primary care and other specialists.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, risks, and self-management.
• Collaborate with care teams to ensure coordinated disease management and adherence to protocols.
