Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc. is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Rheumatologist to join an established clinical team in Rutland, Vermont.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, strong administrative backing, and multidisciplinary collaboration within an outpatient specialty clinic setting. Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and an accredited Rheumatology fellowship.
• Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Vermont (or eligible before start).
• Board certification or active eligibility in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology; DEA registration required.
• Outpatient specialty practice experience and musculoskeletal ultrasound, osteoporosis management, and EMR documentation skills are highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat complex rheumatic, autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders according to evidence-based practice.
• Obtain histories, perform exams, assess disease activity, and monitor long-term treatment response.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, bone health assessments, and integrate data for decision-making.
• Develop individualized treatment plans including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches, lifestyle counseling, and referrals.
• Prescribe and manage DMARDs, biologics, corticosteroids, and immunomodulatory therapies; monitor efficacy and safety.
• Perform joint injections, aspirations, and other rheumatology procedures as indicated.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, risks/benefits, and self-management.
• Maintain thorough EMR documentation compliant with guidelines.
• Collaborate with PCPs, specialists, nursing, and rehab staff for coordinated care.
• Participate in protocol development, meetings, utilization management, and departmental initiatives.
