Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks a Business Development Engineer for the US Air Force to bridge RF capabilities with DoD customer needs. You will coordinate with Engineering and BD teams to demonstrate field-ready StreamCaster radios across airborne and expeditionary environments.

You will travel up to 50% for tests and meetings, with potential remote work depending on location. A SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Air Force operational priorities (e.g., DAF Battle Network, ACE, ABMS) and map requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Plan, configure, and execute field trials and demonstrations; support modernizations and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with engineering to validate solution architectures and benchmarking data.
• Support the BD team with technical inputs to proposals and customer engagements.
• Develop demonstrations for airborne, edge, and expeditionary networking needs.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses and end-to-end network testing.
• Identify potential partner integrations and test end-to-end architectures.
• Engage with DoD stakeholders and translate field feedback into roadmap inputs.
• Travel 25–50%, with 100% remote option depending on location.
