Job summary

Otter in Los Angeles is seeking an Operations Analytics Engineer to join our data & operations team. In this hybrid role, you’ll monitor the health of our top revenue products through data: identifying anomalies in performance, surfacing issues across data pipelines or operations, and helping ensure that what we deliver to customers is both accurate and actionable.

You’ll work across systems and teams to proactively detect drops, gaps, or unexpected patterns in revenue and product

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with experience in KPIs and operational metrics
• Proficient in SQL and familiar with dashboarding/BI tools
• Able to work with data engineers, product managers and ops specialists
• Demonstrates ownership and bias for action in resolving issues
• Bonus: experience with data quality monitoring or alerting systems

Responsibilities

• Monitor core KPIs across customers, segments, and systems to identify anomalies
• Investigate root causes of performance issues
• Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, and monitors for early signs of degradation
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Product to validate system behavior
• Maintain and evolve health checks as an early-warning system
• Create playbooks to improve response times and quality practices
