Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a retail supervisor to assist the store manager, manage daily operations, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will help enforce policies, monitor transactions, and maintain a welcoming store environment.

The role requires prior cashier experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift 40–50 pounds. You will also contribute to staffing and training, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Reading and math at 11th grade level or higher.
• Ability to bend and lift 40–50 pounds frequently.
• Stand for long periods (up to 7 hours).
• Previous cashier experience is required.
• Basic computer and internet skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager with daily operations and policy enforcement.
• Monitor sales transactions and ensure proper procedures.
• Maintain store appearance per Goodwill standards.
• Support safety and security procedures.
• Assist with customer complaints and associate interviews.
• Provide input for staffing and performance evaluations.
• Supervise and train retail staff as needed.
• Oversee banking deposits and opening/closing duties.
