Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a retail leadership professional to oversee daily Rockville, MD store operations. You will direct staff, uphold policies, manage cash handling, and drive exceptional customer service while supporting community impact.

This role emphasizes teamwork, training, scheduling, safety, and performance feedback. You will collaborate with store leadership to meet goals, ensure accurate transactions, and provide a welcoming shopping experience for diverse customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of supervisory experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Reading and math skills at or above an 11th grade skill level.
• Ability to bend and lift 40 - 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
• Previous cashier experience.
• Basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the store manager with overall store operations.
• Help enforce company policies and standards.
• Perform daily administrative/clerical tasks and handle cash.
• Monitor sales transactions and ensure proper procedures.
• Maintain the general appearance of the store.
• Help enforce store safety and security procedures.
• Assist in settling customer complaints.
• Contribute to associate interviews and performance evaluations.
• Make bank deposits.
• Open and close the store as needed.
• Supervise and train retail associates.
• Assist during interviews and train workers to reach potential.
• Maintain staffing levels.
• Monitor time and attendance system.
