Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and assist deposits, while performing stocking and cashier duties.

You will support scheduling, training, safety, planograms, and loss prevention, ensuring store profitability and asset protection. This role requires leadership and a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to read and interpret operating instructions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, rotation, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and controls.
• Assist with planograms and in-store merchandising.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash handling procedures.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
