Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and assist with deposits and cash controls.

You will also perform stocking, cashiering, scheduling, training, and safety meetings, while protecting assets and maximizing profitability. This role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to drive store

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer service initiatives and cashier operations.
• Open and close the store on multiple days per week.
• Schedule employees, train staff, and conduct safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure planograms and display standards per Store Manager.
• Uphold cash controls, count tills, authorize refunds, and deposits.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
