Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-focused store. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will help supervise staff, merchandise presentation, paperwork, and deposits.

The role includes stocking, cashier duties, scheduling, training, safety, planograms, inventory accuracy, and protecting assets. Strong customer service and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail and supervisory roles is a plus.
• Strong customer-service, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation as directed.
• Help ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, cash handling, refunds, and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
