Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus in a fast-paced environment. You will assist the Store Manager with supervising staff, merchandising, deposits and daily paperwork, and you’ll perform stocking and cashier duties as needed to support profitability and reduce losses.

The role emphasizes customer service excellence, inventory control, planogram compliance, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy adherence.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, rotating displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and conduct deposits as needed.
• Support planogram implementation and in-store presentations.
• Ensure cash control and refunds/overrides procedures.
