Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist the Store Manager with supervising staff, merchandising, deposits, and paperwork, while performing stocking, cashiering, and daily duties to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

You will help schedule and train employees, implement planograms, and maintain cash controls, with opportunities to run the store in the Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and train employees and manage store operations.
• Familiarity with cash handling, deposits, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open/close store at least two days per week and supervise staff.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise through stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and security of cash, deposits, and reports.
• Ensure planograms and visual standards are followed; support store manager.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
