Job summary

Meijer, a longtime regional retailer, seeks a store leadership professional to guide day-to-day operations, mentor staff, and drive store performance. You will oversee staffing, selection, and development while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will manage P&L, sales, and shrink, while promoting safety, training, and Meijer’s Friendly Initiative.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across all levels, including hourly staff and team leads.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staff, select, and hire to meet staffing needs.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales, and maintain department shrink.
• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure training is completed for all team members.
• Promote and model Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards.
• Communicate safety and attendance expectations and enforce them.
