Job summary

Meijer Inc. seeks an experienced leader to drive staffing, development, and daily store operations. You will manage hiring decisions, mentor team members, and ensure training and compliance while delivering exceptional customer service and meeting sales goals.

You will oversee P&L responsibilities, shrink control, and safety programs, while advancing career paths and succession planning across the store team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and develop career paths for team members.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on discharge decisions.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and controlling shrink.
• Lead by example with excellent, friendly customer service.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet sales goals and company standards.
• Ensure thorough training and safety in the workplace.
• Spend majority of time in-store engaging with customers and team members.
