Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision of staff, merchandising, deposits, and daily operations to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

The role involves open/close duties, scheduling, training, and ensuring compliance with company policies while protecting assets. Prior retail and supervisory experience is preferred, with strong communication and cash-handling skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail with supervisory exposure is desirable.
• Strong cashier and cash handling knowledge.</p

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Follow processes to receive, stock, and rotate merchandise.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and protect assets.
• Ensure planograms are followed and displays set.
• Maintain cashier accountability and deposit procedures.
• Assist in store management in the absence of the Store Manager.
