Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in a role focused on customer-first service and store supervision. You will support the Store Manager in staffing, merchandise presentation, and store deposits while ensuring profitability and assets protection.

The position involves cashier duties, stock management, and leadership to maintain a clean, organized store environment. Prior retail supervisory experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on policy adherence and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling employees and providing training for staff.
• Manage merchandise stocking, receiving, restocking and displaying.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Assist with planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability and deposit procedures; assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
