Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store under the Store Manager's direction. You will supervise staff, manage merchandising, restock, complete deposits, and support loss prevention efforts.

In this role you will assist with scheduling, training, cash handling, planograms, and ensuring adherence to company policies while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training of employees.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and loss prevention practices.
• Support planograms and ensure merchandise presentation aligns with standards.
• Ensure cash control procedures and sign for refunds/overrides; count tills.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
