Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store focused on customers. You will support the Store Manager with staff supervision, merchandise presentation, and daily operations to maximize profitability and protect assets.

The role includes supervising staff, handling deposits, maintaining planograms, and ensuring excellent customer service while meeting company standards. Retail experience and leadership ability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership and assist customers at the register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with employee scheduling and training; conduct safety meetings and ensure policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, display, and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages, markdowns, and deposits.
• Support store management in the absence of the Store Manager.
