Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful.
• Strong communication to team members with clear direction.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use it to drive decisions; mentor in suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated leadership in promoting safe, compliant operations.
• Mentor team members across roles and ensure required certifications are completed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach staff to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, hiring, and promoting to meet departmental needs.
• Document disciplinary actions and handle discharge recommendations.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales, and control shrink in the department.
• Model fast, friendly, and courteous customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings.
• Ensure comprehensive training and adherence to Meijer standards.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and teams.
