Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise daily operations across departments. You will mentor team members, drive customer service excellence, and manage staffing, training, and promotions to meet sales goals.

The role emphasizes P&L accountability, safe operations, and a commitment to Meijer standards. Prior retail management experience and a high school diploma are required, with rotation through store areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational store-area assignments such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information and teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve customer service and store sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and career development; involvement in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions; make recommendations on discharge.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales, and maintain shrink within department.
• Ensure training completion and adherence to company standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
