Ocean State Job Lot is seeking a Store Specialist to deliver a positive customer experience, process complex POS transactions, and oversee merchandising in assigned areas, while following company policies. This role includes supervising assigned associates and ensuring smooth daily store operations.

Candidates should have retail or cashier experience, strong math and communication skills, and availability for full-time hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Prior retail merchandising, customer service and/or cashier experience preferred.
• Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Full-time associates must have availability to work nights and weekends.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Build lasting relationships by providing exceptional customer service.
• Assist customers with inquiries, locate items, complete purchases, and perform advanced POS functions.
• Promote company-wide customer initiatives (donations, loyalty programs, promotions).
• Maintain visually appealing displays and restock assigned areas per guidelines.
• Train and coordinate assigned associates and manage breaks according to policy.
• Communicate issues and opportunities to store leadership.
• Maintain a safe and organized environment for customers and associates.
• Handle daily damages and returns per established procedures.
