Job summary

Family Dollar in Beacon, NY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with merchandising, employee coaching, opening and closing duties, and ensure compliance with corporate directives while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.

This role offers part-time hours and opportunities to grow with a national retailer in a busy market.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and follow operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational abilities.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged goods.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Train and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful environment.
