Family Dollar Stores Of New York LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Beacon, NY location. You will assist with store operations, customer service, and team development to ensure smooth daily functions and excellent customer experiences.

The role requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on teamwork and safety. You will help manage merchandise, schedules, and store controls while supporting leadership and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store functions and activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handle damaged goods, and support payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Keep store areas clean, stocked, and organized per company standards.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment and professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Maintain overall store cleanliness, restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
