Family Dollar Stores Of New York LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail setting. You will assist with day-to-day activities, customer interactions, and merchandise handling to ensure a well-functioning store.

The role emphasizes leadership over store associates, adherence to company policies, and maintaining a safe, friendly environment for customers and team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent moving and lifting tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas to company standards and secure assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff comply.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
