Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily tasks, train associates, and help ensure the sales floor and stockroom are organized.

The role requires strong communication, a high school diploma or equivalent, and retail or store management experience. You will help with opening/closing procedures, merchandising, and loss prevention while maintaining a friendly, safe environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Provide positive customer service and address questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment; uphold company policies.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe atmosphere with professional interactions.
