Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of New York LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and development of team members. You will assist with daily tasks, merchandise flow, opening/closing procedures, and adherence to company policies.

The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and a focus on customer satisfaction while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized store environment. Part-time and on-site responsibilities may apply depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Assist customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness of store, bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal; keep areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
