Family Dollar in Buffalo, NY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service excellence, and team development. You will assist with merchandise organization, opening/closing procedures, and adherence to company policies, while helping the Store Manager supervise and train staff.

This role emphasizes maintaining a safe, clean, and well-stocked store and delivering friendly interactions with customers and team members in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to follow operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and endure frequent walking, standing, and repetitive movements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store areas are clean and presentable.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash and inventory.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and staff adhere to procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
