Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well‑organized store with a customer‑first focus. You will assist with supervision of staff, merchandise presentation, and deposits under the Store Manager.

The role includes stocking, cashiering, and supporting store profitability and asset protection. You will help schedule and train employees, ensure compliance with policies, and support the Store Manager in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner, and process refunds and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for staff.
• Manage merchandise flow including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and assist with planograms.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
