Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, present merchandise, handle deposits, and perform stocking and cashiering tasks to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires leadership in scheduling, training, and enforcing store policies, with responsibilities in planograms, inventory control, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and limit damages and shortages.
• Support planograms and ensure proper product presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cash handling and deposits; authorize refunds as needed.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
