Job summary

Goodwill Southern Los Angeles County in Cerritos, CA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, drive sales, and deliver outstanding service to donors and customers. You will assist with merchandising, training, and maintaining safety and compliance, reporting to the Store Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma and 1–2 years of retail/thrift experience, with flexible availability including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• 1 - 2 years’ experience in retail, thrift, or consignment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Manager in daily store operations, including sales leadership, merchandising, production, customer service, and training.
• Provide leadership in the Store Manager's absence and help meet daily sales and operational goals.
• Deliver outstanding service to donors and customers and train staff to maintain high service standards.
• Train, mentor, and motivate sales staff to meet or exceed sales goals.
• Ensure deposits are prepared timely for armored car pickup in the Manager’s absence.
• Assist in interviewing and training employees, scheduling, and directing work; contribute to performance appraisals.
• Ensure safety and compliance; report hazards and incidents; maintain accurate sales paperwork.
