Job summary

Goodwill Central Coast is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to supervise daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and to lead a team focused on exceptional donor and customer service. You will guide staff on sales issues, manage cash handling, and support performance reviews.

You will also assist with opening/closing, inventory display, donations processing, and coordination with central processing.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer service and cash-handling skills.
• Experience with retail store operations and scheduling is a plus.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English; basic Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Oversee store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Guide staff on sales questions and issues; inform manager of personnel problems.
• Assist with staff performance appraisals and counseling.
• Provide outstanding donor and customer service and process transactions.
• Perform opening/closing procedures and ensure cash handling accuracy.
• Monitor cleanliness and safety of the sales floor; arrange merchandise.
• Assist with donation processing and intake for transfer to central processing.
• Identify donated items for e-commerce and communicate issues to management.
