Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help create a safe shopping environment while delivering outstanding customer service. You will be at store entrances/exits, monitor high-risk areas, and partner with leadership to reduce theft and protect assets.

The role requires strong communication, a confident presence, and the ability to train others on shortage reduction programs. This is a part-time position based in Cinnaminson, NJ with various benefits for eligible associates.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers.
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance and greet every customer entering or exiting the store.
• Stand at the front of the store and stay vigilant of surroundings.
• Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft.
• Identify and report theft incidents and suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Provide support in shortage reduction programs and process training to associates.
