Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers with energy, and report theft or suspicious activity to leadership.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in retail or related fields, can work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and maintain confidentiality while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and high‑risk areas to reduce opportunities for theft and maintain safety.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Provide confident, friendly, and energetic greetings to customers and associates.
• Support shortage reduction programs and train associates on processes.
• Build trust and respect with customers and colleagues through professional conduct.
