Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Service Manager to supervise employees across departments and ensure prompt, friendly service. You will lead by example, manage schedules, handle customer issues, and oversee merchandising and compliance to keep the store running smoothly.

You will train staff, evaluate performance, and enforce safety policies while maintaining strong customer relations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Lead by example and maintain positive employee relations across the store.
• Plan, prepare, and adjust work schedules; assign employees to duties and ensure timely completion.
• Supervise and coordinate activities across all store areas in the Department Manager's absence.
• Address customer issues promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
• Train workers on store policies and procedures and update them on changes.
• Evaluate employee performance and consider promotions, transfers, or dismissals.
• Enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment; handle incident reporting as needed.
• Order merchandise, verify deliveries, ensure quality, and report discrepancies.
• Manage ad displays and ensure product quality and quantities meet demand.
• Review sales and inventory data to support store operations.
