Hy-Vee is seeking a Service Manager to keep store operations running smoothly by supervising employees across departments, coordinating schedules, and resolving customer issues. You will lead by example, ensure merchandising standards, and maintain safety and compliance to deliver excellent service.

The role requires experience in retail leadership, a passion for customer service, and a commitment to developing people and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be able to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to perform arithmetic across fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• In-person and phone interactions to guide customers and staff.
• Experience leading a team in a customer-focused retail setting.

Responsabilités

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and names.
• Lead by example and maintain positive employee relations store-wide.
• Plan, prepare, and adjust work schedules and assign tasks.
• Supervise store activities when the Department Manager is absent.
• Address customer issues promptly and professionally.
• Train staff on store policies and procedures.
• Evaluate performance and recommend promotions or transfers.
• Enforce safety procedures and handle incident reports as needed.
• Order merchandise, verify deliveries, and report discrepancies.
• Monitor ad placements and ensure product quality and stock levels.
• Review sales and inventory data and payroll basics.
• Handle cash registers and basic transactions.
• Suggest cost reductions and shelf strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality of pricing, reports, and wages.
