Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a Retail Sales team member to deliver courteous service, assist customers, and manage transactions with accuracy. You will help merchandise placement, maintain store cleanliness, and support security procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, basic math, and a commitment to great customer experiences. Prior retail exposure is preferred but not required, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Effective communication with customers and teammates.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all customers.
• Basic math skills for transactions.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Basic computer and internet skills.
• Six months of retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous service to customers in-store, outside, and on the phone.
• Ensures merchandise is placed on sales floor promptly.
• Rings items accurately at the register.
• Demonstrates cash handling, making change and using payment devices.
• Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers questions promptly.
• Keeps floor neat and assists customers with selections.
• Maintains a clean professional appearance.
• Maintains an orderly register area and adheres to security procedures.
• Performs housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, etc.).
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
