Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a retail team member to greet customers, assist with purchases, and maintain a clean, organized store floor in Falls Church, VA. You will handle transactions, answer questions, and help shoppers find items, while upholding standards for appearance and service.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and GGW associates.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all customers.
• Ability to settle customer complaints.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
• Ability to bend and lift up to 40 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside the store, and on the phone.
• Assures merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner.
• Ensures items are rung accurately on the register.
• Demonstrates accurate cash handling skills, including making change, operating and maintaining the cash register, and using a calculator.
• Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers customer questions courteously and promptly.
• Keeps floor merchandise neat and orderly (racks, shelves, bins, and hangers) and assists customers with purchase selections.
• Maintains clean professional appearance.
• Maintain an orderly and clean register area.
• Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary.
• Perform general housekeeping responsibilities to include: store upkeep duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms).
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
