Job summary

Fifth Third Bank in Southfield, MI seeks a Retail Personal Banker I to begin with a structured 4–8 week onboarding and education program. You will rotate through operations and Sales & Service and work toward becoming a Personal Banker I within the Retail Personal Banker family.

The role emphasizes consultative sales, cross-selling, and building strong customer relationships while handling teller transactions and platform responsibilities. Training is provided; travel for training is required.

Qualifications

• College degree or work experience providing transferrable skills.
• Experience in the financial industry preferred.
• Ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new customers and cross-sell.
• Understanding of advanced math for credit/financial analysis.
• Professional appearance and strong verbal/written communication.
• Knowledge of Retail policies and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to identify customer needs.
• Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions.
• Reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.
• Cross-sell to existing customers and engage in outside sales activities.
• Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic financial solutions.
• Meet/exceed customer experience and production goals and drive revenue growth.
• Guide CSRs on sales and referral processes.
• Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.
• Follow Bank policies and Code of Conduct.
• Participate in consumer loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
• Participate in opening/closing process of Financial Center or Bank Mart.
• Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
