PetSmart’s Retail Operations Lead plays a pivotal role in driving store performance, merchandising excellence, and inventory control. You’ll lead with empathy, supervise front-line teams, and maintain a safe, inviting shopping environment.

The role requires 2+ years of retail supervisory experience, full-time availability, and strong communication skills; you’ll work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, using POS systems to ensure accurate transactions and high-quality customer

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, with flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency with computer applications and POS systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide sales associates in merchandise handling and product presentation.
• Provide training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Delegate daily tasks and supervise as Leader on duty.
• Address associate concerns and drive engagement.
• Execute merchandise strategies, manage inventory, and oversee store operations.
• Operate POS systems and ensure accurate cash handling.
• Maintain store standards and compliance with policies and ethics.
• Support open/close procedures and cycle counts.
• Ensure pet care maintenance and safety of pets in the store.
