PetSmart Store Support Group, Inc. is seeking a Retail Operations Lead to drive store excellence across merchandising, inventory, and pet care. You will supervise and develop associates, lead opening/closing routines, and ensure a safe, engaging shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and hands-on leadership, with a focus on delivering a high-quality customer experience and meeting store goals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide sales associates in merchandise handling, providing training on product knowledge and presentation standards.
• Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development, including training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Delegate and validate completion of daily tasks and lead when acting as leader on duty.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances; celebrate engagement.
• Execute merchandise strategies to optimize sales, manage product intake, displays, and promotions.
• Manage inventory levels, audits, stock replenishment, and markdown decisions.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash with accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain store standards and policies, open/close procedures, monthly counts, and store cleanliness.
• Ensure safe pet care, respond to sick/injured pets, and support in online order fulfillment.
