Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Retail Operations Lead to drive operational excellence in its stores. You will oversee merchandising, inventory, pet care operations, opening/closing, and supervision of associates to maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires 2+ years in retail supervisory capacity, full-time availability, strong communication, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations while keeping a visually appealing store layout.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for store presentation.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide sales associates in merchandise handling and training.
• Delegate and validate completion of daily tasks.
• Lead and direct associates when acting as the leader on duty.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances.
• Oversee inventory management including audits and stock replenishment.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash transactions.
• Maintain store standards and ensure compliance with Policies and Code of Ethics.
• Assist with open/close procedures and monthly cycle counts.
