Job summary

PetSmart’s Process Lead (Retail Operations Lead) is responsible for driving operational excellence in our stores, including merchandising, inventory management, and pet care operations. This role opens and/or closes the store, oversees associates, and maintains a safe, organized environment to deliver a best-in-class shopping experience.

The position emphasizes people leadership, executing merchandising strategies, auditing inventory, handling POS transactions, and ensuring adherence to Policies

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide sales associates in merchandise handling and presentation.
• Develop and coach associates, including training, onboarding, mentoring.
• Delegate and validate completion of daily tasks.
• Lead when on duty and supervise associates.
• Address associate complaints and grievances.
• Maintain store standards and ensure policy compliance.
• Open and close procedures and conduct cycle counts.
• Ensure pet care maintenance and safety.
• Assist with online orders pick-up and ship from store.
