Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help keep a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise employees, manage merchandising, complete paperwork, and prepare deposits to maximize profitability and protect assets.

You will also perform stocking and cashiering duties, assist with planograms, inventory control, and help run the store in the Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.
• Good organization skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and control damages and markdowns.
• Assist with planograms and store presentation as directed.
• Assist with cash control, refunds, and bank deposits.
• Support Store Manager in their absence.
